I wrote "Sex, Lies and the Internet" because I realized women were not screening their dates properly. Women need ways to avoid being scammed, used and abused by men. I put together the best tips available to help women dramatically increase their chances of avoiding bad guys and finding a good one! I give them proven techniques to screen their online dates. I also show women why they keep going back to Mr. Wrong, how to break the cycle and how to recognize and avoid the most dangerous types of men.

My goal is to change the way the next generation of women deal with men by networking together to share their stories to bring the good guys to the top and the bad to the bottom. It may not be full-proof, but it can help you make safer choices to protect yourself, your family and what you value.

Books-and-Authors.net: Where did you grow up and was reading and writing a part of your life? Who were your earliest influences and why?

Stephany Alexander: I grew up in Germany and lived there until eight years of age. I got my US Citizenship at age 12 and have lived in the States ever since. The European school system is excellent and reading and writing are stressed early on in life. My earliest influence was actually my mother reading me bedtime stories in German. I got lost in the fantasy world of books and by the time I got to the United States my reading and writing skills in German were strong. I picked up speaking English from the television and quickly learned to read and write in English. Thereafter, I read series of books like the Nancy Drew novels and I became obsessed with Judy Blume books such as "Are you there God, it's me Margaret."

Books-and-Authors.net: Why do you write?

Stephany Alexander:  I write to express myself and to teach and help others. I am very right brained and creative. If I don't utilize my creativity, I feel stifled, like a volcano that is going to burst. Writing, creating and designing keep my volcano from exploding.

Books-and-Authors.net:  Your new book is "Sex, Lies and the Internet" -- Briefly discuss this book and why you wrote it? How can "Sex, Lies and the Internet" help someone avoid a bad relationship?

Stephany Alexander: I wrote "Sex, Lies and the Internet" because I realized women were not screening their dates properly.

Other book highlights include top sneaky tricks on how to catch a cheater, 8 relationship deal breakers, 11 signs you are being abused and used, quickest ways to get over him and move one, how to leave an abusive relationship, top 10 places to meet Mr. Right, and how to do a free background check. My book is full of a lot of information and great custom cartoons I designed. You can purchase it at http://www.sexliesandtheinternet.com

Books-and-Authors.net: What are some of your date screening tips? What are online dating Red Flags?

Stephany Alexander: I have so many date screening tips but here is a good one that both men and women can use. If you think you may be dealing with a committed or married person, try to get their home telephone number. If they are very hesitant on giving it out, that may or may not be a red flag because many people now only have cell phones. However, if you consistently phone them between the hours of 7pm-10pm and they always have an excuse for not being able to answer or their cell phone is always turned off, there is a good probability you may be dealing with someone who is already involved because those are the prime hours when people are with their families and/or partner. Online dating red flags could be anything from pushing sexual communications quickly to "if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is." Go slow, proceed with caution and if your gut instinct tells you something isn't right, investigate further. I go more in-depth on date screening tips in my book, Sex, Lies and the Internet."

Books-and-Authors.net:  I understand you found "Mr. Right" on the Internet? Explain.

Stephany Alexander:  Yes. I did not know how to screen properly in my early dating life and inturn, was scammed, used and abused by men. Life experience is a great teacher so when I met my "Mr. Right" I put him through the ringer. He was merely a stranger to me so I did a full criminal background check on him (you can get one off the internet now for under US$50), a sexual predator check and a character check on my own site WomanSavers.com. This allowed me to make a better, safer and more informed decision and to move forward with more confidence. I still moved very slowly as some people don't show their true colors until many months into a relationship but he turned out to be one of the most wonderful human beings on the planet.

Books-and-Authors.net: In your opinion what makes "Sex, Lies and the Internet" different from others in the same genre?

Stephany Alexander:  There are no books for women on how to screen your dates. There are a million books on dating, abuse and how to manage your relationship but date screening is a new area that's just beginning to explode.

Books-and-Authors.net: Where did you get the nickname "Little Miss WomanSaver"?

Stephany Alexander:  The members of my website, WomanSavers.com, which is the "World's Largest Database Rating Men" targeting abusive and cheating men, gave me that nick name because I am only 5 feet tall, never married and I help women. My goal is to change the way the next generation of women deal with men by networking together to share their stories to bring the good guys to the top and the bad to the bottom. It may not be full-proof, but it can help you make safer choices to protect yourself, your family and what you value.

Books-and-Authors.net: What did you learn from writing "Sex, Lies and the Internet" ? What will readers learn from "Sex, Lies and the Internet" ?

Stephany Alexander:  I learned about writers block. I have ADD and either I am really focused and unstoppable or not focused at all. I had to write around my moods, or should I say, mood swings? ha ha ha Readers will learn all the key points I mentioned in question number three above and it will give them the necessary tools to screen their dates properly so they can put the odds in their favor more to meet a great guy.

Books-and-Authors.net:  What's next?

Stephany Alexander: I am interested in speaking for women and creating a women's conference for WomanSavers because I have had so many women request it. I have also started writing my second book which has absolutely nothing to do with my first book. I don't want to give away the topic but here's a clue. There has never been a book written about this topic, organized in this manner, on the planet. It's going to be awesome.

Books-and-Authors.net:  What was the last book you read?

Stephany Alexander:  Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine by Dr. Gabriel Cousens. He's a genius.

Books-and-Authors.net: Do you have any hobbies? What are they? How do they enhance your writing?

Stephany Alexander:  I have a lot of hobbies. I am certified advanced, rescue and nitrox scuba diver and dive every chance I get. I enjoy traveling and have visited over 34 countries now. I've lost count. I love snow skiing, snowboarding, sky diving, yoga, sitting in hot springs, the ocean, the sun, a healthy diet and playing with my dogs and cat. Those hobbies actually take a lot of time away from my writing so I take my lap top into bed with me to write or I write on airplanes.
